I quit.

I finally quit. 

I quit telling myself I’m working every time I unlock my phone. I quit telling myself social media is the best place to stay connected.

When my son started tracking my eyes while I was tracking social media during his afternoon bottle, I realized what I was missing. His tiny fingers curled around my pinky… the sweet sounds of satisfaction as he nourished those rolls I adore…The life I dreamed about was happening right in front of me… And I was watching other people’s lives online.

That was enough. I started paying attention. I stopped scrolling.

And I started thinking about how fast it all goes.

HERE’S THE THING.

I don’t want to miss what’s happening right in front of me. But I also don’t want to lose the connection I’ve built with you.

Over the past six years, you’ve been part of something really beautiful. From Hoppe Images to Angela Hoppe Collaborative, we’ve grown a creative, cozy, generous community of women doing meaningful work. Together.

I’m not quitting that.

But I am quitting the idea that every scroll counts as work.

So from here on out, I’m focusing on connection in quieter, cozier places. Like here, on the blog and in person.
